Court Hearing

Well, the court hearing went well. Pei Fang's birth mother came to the hearing and she did not contest the adoption. The judge wanted us to remember that it will be a difficult adjustment for Pei Fang in the United States. We are getting together some things to send her that will introduce her to her upcoming new surroundings and some things to help her learn a little bit of English.
Now we will wait for the judge to finalize the adoption. We are praying that the process will be quick, but we also know that God's timing is always perfect. Once the adoption is finalized, we will be able to plan our trip to Taiwan to bring our daughter home!

Court Date!

Well, today is the day for Pei Fang's court hearing.

This is what the social worker says will happen: Usually the judge will ask the birth family to attend to see if there are any contests. (didn't know about this) Pei Fang might or might not need to be there. Most of the time for older children, the social worker will bring the child to the court hearing and the judge might ask if she wants to be adopted. Sometimes if the birth family is not available, the orphanage director will attend and the court hearing is very brief and short.

This will take place at 9:50 PM CST. We really appreciate your prayers during that time, especially for this precious little girl.
